Oncor, TXU, Green Mountain Energy overcharge and charge for unused electricity. Preston Racquet Club does nothing!

In September I received a bill from TXU for $1211.83. They claimed I used over 4000 kWh in one month in a 900 sq foot condo. The August bill listed my "current meter reading" as of 8/21/08 as 40461 kWh. The September bill listed my "previous meter reading" on 8/21/08 as 46264kwh. No one has been able to tell me where this phantom amount of electric usage came from. The previous balance on the August bill, that I paid, was $211.20 although the September bill said the August bill was for $835.67.

When I contacted TXU about it they told me it was not logical and no one could use this amount of electricity in that small an apartment... But someone had to pay for it and it might as well be me. When I contacted Oncor about it they told me they would not talk to me.

I lived at the Preston Racquet Club in Dallas and when I went to talk to them about this issue their response was..."sucks to be you, not our problem." When I asked the property management to show me where the meter was, they refused. I could find it nowhere around the apartment building.

I thought it might be a faulty air conditioner and asked my property manager to send a heating and a/c tech to look at the unit. They scheduled a time on 12/1/08. However they replaced the a/c unit on 11/28/08, so the unit he checked would not have been the one in question. This is one of a litany of things Preston Racquet Club did to us... I may file a separate report on them.

I have been fighting this issue for a year. I moved this July and knew I wasn't going to use TXU anymore. I was tired of their lack of customer service and their overcharging. My wife and I requested information, Information only, from Green Mountain Energy. Green Mountain then "took over" my account from TXU without my knowledge or consent. My TXU account was in my name and my wife's name appeared nowhere on the account since I had it before I met her. However the Green Mountain Energy account was in her name. So somehow she was able to do something to an account she had no control over.

The July bill from Green Mountain was $798!!! They again said I used over 5000 kWh in my 900 sq foot apartment. They were nice enough to put a hold on my account and not send it to collections, unlike TXU. Green Mountain told me to call Oncor because they could do nothing about it. Oncor said I couldn't talk to them, my energy provider had to. I told them that my energy provider said to call them. Too bad Oncor responded. I called Green Mountain back and told them what Oncor said, to which Green Mountain responded..."that sucks, we still can't talk to them"

No one will help me. I do not know who is to blame. Is it Oncor for not being able to read the meter properly? Is it TXU or Green Mountain who doesn't care as long as they get money? Is it Preston Racquet Club and their faulty electricity? Whoever is at fault all I know is I could not use that much electricity. I want someone to believe me. I want someone to help me.
