I saw an ad at the little nickel newspaper about Affordable Rental Northwest.inc. I called to inquired about the ad and I was told that I need to come to Seattle to fill out some necessary documents.
On July 3rd, myself, my husband Helacio, my daughter Tricia and her husband Joey drove to Seattle assuming that we will find a house to rent right away but we need to pay $250.00 and we will get all the listing in Washington. Terrence, the person that entertained us on this day. As we sat in a room with no telephone nor computer on the desk, he hurriedly handed us some papers to sign. Before I sign the documents, his words was so conviencing, saying, that he will move us in as soon as we found a place that we like. I and my family were desperate to move to a house for we had lived in an apartment for the last 5 years. We had decided to change our living environment.
Before I give him the money, he promised that he will be calling to make sure that we had find a home that we liked.By surprised, as he took my money, he handed us a lists of houses, apartments, condos and townhomes.
We believed every word that he said to us, that we took the listings and drove around in Lakewood and Tacoma areas hoping that we will find a house that we want. We finally found a house that we want and that we can afford to rent. We called Terrence in inform him that we had found a house that we like. He told us that he will call the owner and he will call us back. At no luck, he never called back to let us know whether he called the owner of the house. Finally, we cannot wait any longer so my daughter, Tricia called Terrence and ask if she (herself) can call the owner, his response was, "to be honest with you, I can't do this but I will go ahead and let you call the owner. Again, by surprised, the owner told my daughter that his house is not for rent. We went back to Seattle on the 5th of July to get a new listing. There were a couple more new listing houses for rent and again we found another one that we liked. My daughter called Terrence to let him know that we had found another house that we like so we gave him the address and told my daughter that he will call and he will give us a call for the result. But his promised were never happened. Again, my daughter called Terrence, still inquiring about the house that we found. My daughter asked him one more time if he can give her the phone number so that she wll call him herself. The number that he gave my daughter was not working. We were all disgusted about the situation so we went out and search for a house on our own and we found one that was not in the list.
I asked for my money to be refunded, but they don't want. I ask anyone in a legal procedure to help me and have them return my money. I'd been calling but no one returned my call.
