If you're seeing this, it's probably because ESBI (Enhanced Services Billing, Inc) has found its way to you. How much? $14.95? That's the minimum toll. It seems futile to blog or vent about a mafia-styled extortion racket like ESBI because the Federal Government has yet to lift a finger to shut them down.

It's been a year since they robbed me of over $200.00 by attaching themselves to my Qwest bill and I see they are still going strong. Like everyone else, I disputed the strange charges and demanded my refund. I threatened with a lawyer and was promised a full refund. Of course, I was only given back 1 month ($30.00). As you know, those who steal are guaranteed to lie. But when you take my $180.00 and the monies robbed from those who continue to report the problem, those who don't report, plus the folks who are yet to find the secret charges, you are looking at a seriously lucrative business. It crosses state lines, so it is a Federal crime. It is a parasite (third party) on every major phone provider in the United States.
You will only hear about ESBI after they've nailed you: you question charges on your bill and find your provider can't remove the charges. You will get ESBI's number and talk to someone with broken English who will tell you they have your personal information. They will know the answers you gave to certain questions (but they don't know the questions). You will protest and fight them and they will maybe give back some of your money. They will get some of your money and not have given you a single service or product. And, they will win.
They win because they have discovered that in America, you don't have to be fair, or provide a service or product to get people's money. You can attach charges for nothing to another company's customer; a company you NEED. And that company will not defend you no matter how many of their customers call and complain and say they've never heard of ESBI. And when ESBI has milked those 4 letters, they will simply change them into something else.
I called my local news organization and explained how this is affecting the fine people of our town. I spoke articulately; I told them I had proof, I urged them to warn the community. They didn't call me back. But I urge YOU to call your local news agencies. Keep trying until all of America knows. Because we need laws that protect us from EXTORTION. Our money is too precious to be stolen from us. After a year, I continue to beg YOU to fight with me. Or, maybe we should give up and go work for them... They're raking it in during these tough times with no one there to stop them!
