First to the person who called us cry babies because we dared to mention the truth. Well I will tell you this, I have been with SRT since January in that time I have only driven a little over 50'000 now if there isn't something wrong with that picture then i don't know what is.
1.) they messed up on my first paycheck by paying me a major reduced rate then what was agreed upon. (we sign a paper stating the agreed amount per mile before we leave the yard)
that took one week to mess up and three weeks to pay me back the difference.
2.) I spend more time down then I do driving because the planners think it takes 24 complete hours to drive 450miles (no joke I can prove it) then after sitting for days they give you a load that there is no way you can make on time.
3.) I have been yelled at not only by dispatch but the planners themselves for delivering early. My job is to get the freight there on time and in one piece. My logs are legal and D.O. T leave me alone but is srt happy, No they shut me down for 24hrs to pay me back for a job well done.
I have been a driver now for 14 years. I have had only one accident in that time and I was the one hit while I was parked. I was a day and half early on a load last week. Picked it up a day early, had the first stop off a day early and when I got to the yard what happened. They wouldn't let me drop it on one of our yards no. They made me sit on it by taking my trailer in for some trumped up repairs that were never written up. Oh they gave it back to me 24hrs later just in time for me to leave the yard with it to deliver.
I have four pay checks with nothing on them. I have in the past five weeks taken home 189.00.150.00.123.00 and my biggie 400.00 I don't take cash advances. But they sure do. Have a lumper fee? Its out of your check, have a trailer wash out its out of your check, have anything that requires a comcheck payoff and its out of your check. Yes they give it back when they feel like it. They just recently changed the pay cut off from Monday at 12:00pm to Monday at 12:00am. What does this do, well if you have that big run over the weekend that delivers on Monday say at 8am and you get it off your truck and get it scanned before 12:00pm used to be you would see that on your Thursdays check. Not anymore it now goes on to next week, which would be ok only now you just empty out on Monday and they will give you 500mils to run and you now got to Thursday or Friday to get it off your truck. (this is not a lie or a stretch, I can prove every word I am saying)
I am leaving at the end of this month, I have tried to give them a chance, have tried to work it out. I have had a dispatcher tell me 18,000miles for three months was good that i was running hard. Come on if your a driver of any caliber you know that this is bull.
All i have to say to any str driver if you plan on leaving do it the right way. Clean out your truck. Take photos of the truck when you turn it in. Turn in everything they gave you. Key, lock, books, id, folder, fuel book. Everything and turn in the trk to the only yard SRT has. NOT to the other yards they use.
This will keep them from charging you a arm and a leg. Oh yea and don't expect a final paycheck. There wont be one they will make sure of it.
I am not a cry baby, I am not a whiner but I am a 14yr vet with good driving habits and a safety record to back it. I can back up every word of what is typed above. The one that thinks SRT is the bomb just wait your bubble will burst soon too. I have been on the yard and watched srt clean house of 25 drivers for this that and the other and each and everyone was a seasoned driver with SRT getting top pay. SRT is in trouble and they are trying very hard to hold on, the only thing is they are using the backs of the drivers to do it.
