Fraud Unauthorized Debit Lie Poor Service

Everything went well for about 6mos, then all the sudden the service was pure fuzzy garbage. Called and had service guys out a few times, they all said, *yep its fuzzy garbage* (not a direct quote) so finally the DTV rep says, well if you upgrade recievers that will help. Ok, so if I fork over $100 everything will be fine? *yes*. -.- It wasn't, and I also didn't read the fine print on the receiver because buying it obligated me to another year of service. That was my bad, I know how devious the company is and it's my own fault for not pulling out the magnifying glass and checking with the family lawyer before I agreed.

Since the service is crappy and I don't get most of the channels I pay for I decided to drop from the 92$ program to the 30$ one (I forget the specific package). I get the new bill and instead of the 30$ bill there is a 90$ bill. They changed the service just fine, but decided I would still pay the 92$. I refused to pay the 92$ because, uhm I DON'T OWE IT! Their otherworldly response to not being paid money they aren't due?
*OK, well we will shut off your service.*
(No, it WAS NOT for the previous month of full service, it was for a month of the 30$ service which is why I owed 30$ not 90$)

I decided I had enough. For what I am spending to NOT watch TV I could just ditch the whole deal and get the equipment to stream to my tv and watch what I want CLEARLY and without the DTV special fines and fee's. I decided to cancel services eat all the fees and nonsense and just get these morons out of my life. I made a HUGE mistake in choosing to do business with them and this made piece with paying a HUGE fine to get rid of them. I thought it was over. WRONG.

My PAID FOR set top boxes had to be returned and they were sending a box. I had 30 days to return receivers or I would be charged 800$. Fine with me. 10 days pass before I get a box. THE DAY THE BOX SHOWS UP there is a 897$ debit from direcTV to my account. I am not signed up for billpay and I have an email stating I owe no outstanding fines or fee's and I am well within my 30 days. I call up and they claim I haven't returned the receiver so they are within their rights. I have proof of when the box was delivered from FEDEX. It's not like I can drop the box off locally. This is a scam pure and simple, there is ONE way to return the boxes and its through them, they don't send the box timely and they can slam you with a HUGE fee.

Someone please tell me how this is remotely ok? I'm now 100$ overdrawn on my account because they took money they aren't due without notifying me. I am disputing with the bank, have filed with the FTC and BBB but that doesn't give me back my week without food : (
