My husband and I started dealing with JKH in 1999. We began with a $38000.00 tax bill and at the time established a payment plan with the IRS. We were having problems making the IRS monthly payments so decided it was time to get professional assistance.
We called JKH and met with an odd attorney named Michael Stanick at a local office that appeared to be unused, very little furniture, files or anything to make it appear to be an active office. Mr. Stanick informed us they could incorporate our business as well as drastically reduce our bill to pennies on the dollar. I believe his quote was $3600.00. We agreed to a $1,000.00 down payment and withdraws from our checking account of $269.00; grand total $3600.00.
After the first payment we did not hear from them, so I called and was told by the call center that the process did not begin until balance was paid in full. So again we waited. Finally we were paid up the sent us a bunch of paper work for the Offer in Compromise, along with the lsit of requried documents and reciepts. We had a lot of questions on this and when we called our call was never get a returned. Then we found out they lost the paperwork this was after like 3 months and we had to send it again.
They made the made the OIC which was rejected because of the ludicrous amount JKH offered. The IRS now wanted 6900.00 I called the call center and told them this was double because to the added penalties. She told me it did not matter in the end when they accepted our OIC.
We appealed the IRS offer. Our caseworker Tito Rodriegues was suppose to go to the appeal meeting after telling us not to go or even speak to IRS. A few weeks later we received a letter from the IRS telling us no one showed and we had one more chance. Tito said the reason was because the IRS person he was suppose to meet with was out of town. He said someone would be representing us at the next one. Well guess what it didn't happen?
Now th IRS wants $92000.00 amd JKH said we should set up a payment plan. That's what were doing before JHK. Why did they think we came to them in the first place, to pay them $4,000 for nothing but tripling my bill?
We just hired a legit tax attorney and am not sure what's going to happen but it's has to be better than the results I got from this scam mill. I intend to to get my my money back and am also in the process of filing complaints with the Attorney General and BBB. I have alot more details of our hell with this company but this getting pretty long. So good luck to all of us victims and may this company get its just desserts.
