Midwest Center - Midwest Center For Stress And Anxiety
Very slick company... Highly trained sales professionals

Midwest Center's program for Attacking Anxiety MAY work. They have a lot of keywords in their information that hint they know what they're talking about.

But here is a key that tells me to avoid it... Very highly trained sales professionals. I spent 7 years in sales, and I can tell when the person I'm dealing with is highly trained and using strong sales tactics. Midwest Center has a VERY SLICK sales program that starts the moment you call for their information.

A red flag...

... When you call to order, they FIRST get you to agree to a trial program. Of course, it is not obligational, and only costs $14.95.

THEN, after selling you MORE on the program and getting you comfortable with your decision... They ask if you'd like to pay up front for the ENTIRE program.

Why? Because if you do, you'll get the program on CD/DVD instead of VHS/cassette.

This is also a dishonest tactic, as they FIRST get you sold on the product. Once you've given them your checking info or credit card number, and are very comfortable with or excited about this new start you're going to receive... THEN they spring the fact that your current commitment will only get you outdated, useless VHS and cassette tapes.

The woman who handled my call made sure to apologize for "forgetting" to mention up front that the intro price is for VHS/cassette. She needn't apologize as this was clearly strategical and intentional.

the entire goal of that tactic is to get you to buy the entire program with one payment.

My guess is because they know 1 thing...

1- either the program does not work

2- or due to the nature of their clients' mental illnesses, they are aware many clients do not finish the program... Which, in my book, translates to it not working

Another red flag

During the qualifying questionnaire process of the call... The professional I spoke with asked many lead-in questions about my mental health. These questions are not for Midwest Center's benefit, or to better help you.

These are questions in sales that are called "power questions".in other words, the questions are asked so that as you answer them, you will convince yourself more and more that you NEED the product.

Again, the program may work. And there is nothing wrong with being professional in your sales pitch. But the fact that the salespeople are SO highly trained, SO slick, clearly NOT just an answering service for the infomercial, is a red flag to me.

Near the end of the closing process, when I was told I would have to choose whether to buy dvd/cd or vhs/tape, I decided I no longer wanted to try out the program, and I told the saleswoman so.

THEY STILL HAVE MY CHECKING INFORMATION... If I receive a product in the mail and a bill, I will definitely be taking action against this company and leaving more usacomplaints.com.
