I think other parents would be interested in knowing about our recent horror with a tommee tippee infant soother. My little boy fell over recently when he was 14 mths old with his tommee tippee soother in his mouth. Upon lifting him up, i was horrified to see his little nose hanging wide open from his face. He had fallen upon the hard plastic shield that surrounds the actual teat and sliced his nose almost off. The plastic sliced right through his right nostril - up to the bridge of his nose sliced right through the septum, and badly gashed the inside of the left nostril. Needless to say it was terrifing, he had to have a general anaesthetic and plastic surgeons did the best job they could to sew it back on again. He will be scarred for life, and is now a different child. He has a constant nasal drip, can't breathe properly, doesn't sleep well etc. Tommee tippee don't want to know - but i want people to know of the hidden dangers of these soothers. They should come with a warning, not to let your children walk/run around with them in their mouths, i complained to my local health authority and they sent the soother of, apparently someone from tommee tippee was going to be contacting me regarding the matter, but of course i'm still waiting on an acknowledgement, meanwhile my little boy is still suffering.
