I had four phones under my name with verizon in 2000. One for me and three for friends. Mine and one friend were always on time, the other two were not. I cancelled their phones on the 1 year contract date. Their total was high and had to be paid to me over 6 months, it was eventually paid.
After cancellation of the phones, Verizon didn't allow for partial payments so they sent both phone totals to a collection agency. I paid in full as soon as I recieved the letter. Everything was fine until 5 months later, when I recieved the same amount due from a different collection agency.
Cleared it up, then another 5 months and another agency, and so forth. Now I have Allied Interstate threatening to damage my credit unless they recieve payment, after the first letter I sent copies of documentation and a letter to contest. Now in this second letter they are refusing to aknowledge the information I sent. I'm sick of this constant harassment every few months. Someone needs to be sued.
