Ripoff FAR from busy and now I know why!

As a business owner, I thought you may want to know about the service I received at the Target store located in Anderson, S.C.

I purchased a shirt with Capri pants along with other items on 5-15-03. The cashier forgot to put my shirt and pants in the bags. I did not discover this until I got home. I called the store and spoke with "Colleen" (supposedly a manager of the store) and explained to her the situation. She located my outfit still laying on the register where I was checked out. I told her it was impossible for me to come back to the store that night but I would be there the very next day and to please put it in a bag with my name on it, as it was the only size the store had to fit me.

She assured me she was putting it in a bag as we spoke and put my name on it. She said all I had to do was come to the store and pick it up at the desk to the left as you enter the store. I thanked her for her efforts and assured her I would be there ASAP. When I went the next day to pick up my merchandise, no one could locate my items. I was told by an employee that the merchandise I had purchased was probably put back out on the floor. She told me I could go out in the store to see if I could locate the shirt and pants.

After explaining to her the situation, she said I would have to go back in the department where I got the clothes and see if I could find them and if not, she would give me a store credit! I had my receipt! I did not feel it was my place to locate the items, but I did go back in the ladies apparel dept. And found the pants and shirt I had purchased. It had to be the SAME outfit because there were no others that was size "small". This along infuriates me to no end. Your manager did not follow through with her promise, and it was not my place to hunt for it. I do not know what your store policies are, but something needs to be done about this situation.

I also asked "Colleen" to speak with her employees about saying "Thank you" to customers as they receive their change. This male employee just threw my change in my hand and started checking the next person in line out. I guess he was just going through the motions and that is why he did not give me all my stuff. The store was FAR from busy and now I know why. I will never shop in Target again for these reasons. Advertising is great for a good business, but word of mouth is the best. You better believe I will tell everybody I come in contact with to cater other stores
