On January 17 at 9:00 P.M. I was at Conway clothing store in located on Route 46 West, Totowa NJ. I purchased three pants on January 9 and two pants on December 31. I put all five pants with the receipt in the bag and took them back to Conway to exchange them on January 17. The cashier took three of the pants out of the five I had with me and said to go and get the bigger sizes for the three pants I wanted to exchange. While I went to get the three pants another sales associate took back the pants to put them back on the rack. When I walked up to the cashier she wanted to charge me again for the three pants that was suppose to be for even exchange. She stated I only gave back two pants and that I all ready had those pants in my bag. I got very upset when kept telling her that I gave her three pants and I shouldn't have to pay again for the even exchange. Not only did she not put the third pant back on the exchange receipt when her associate even told her it was three pants I gave back she wanted me to pay for them and accused me of only having two. She claimed that the two pants that are in my bag are the ones I exchanged except the two pants that were in my bag with the bar codes all ready showed on the receipts that I purchased them back in December and January 1st. The casheir kept laughing and said I could not prove it anyways that I exchanged three pants. I even asked for them to go and look at the cameras because it would show what happened with the transaction. She laughed and said there are no cameras. I was thrown out of the store without the three pants I was suppose to get back for even exchange and without money. I even called the police of Totowa and they said unfortunalty they can't do anything since they were not at the store but to file a complaint with Conway.
How could a store take back items and not only not give back the pants for even exchange but to also keep the money for the exchange when I had proof that the two pants that were in my bag all showed with their bar codes on the old receipt. There were two other employees who just kept laughing and said you cant prove anything. Conway just stole three pants back for what I bought and paid for. No even exchange and no money back. They wouldn't even bother to look at the old reciept to that showed that the two pants I had in my bag were all ready on my old receipts that were purchased previously. The manager asked the cashier why she did not circle the exchanged pants on the original reciepts and the cashier's reply was "I don't know."
