Regines not making good on purchase conneticut

On the date of 12/15/07 time approximately 3:30pm I purchases $68.53 worth of merchandise from Regines clothing store 7 items in total. Later that evening around 9:30pm as i was going through the items to wrap for Christmas, I realize a pair of size 10 jeans I brought for my son were not in the bag. I checked the back seat of my car to make sure they had not fallen out of the bag, when I realize the cashier had almost forgotten to put a belt I purchased in the bag also, until I noticed and told her she had not put the belt in the bag, that she must had forgotten to put the pants in the bag too. I called the store but they had closed. The store was not open on Sunday. Monday morning I went to the store and explained what happened. I was uncertain if the manager would believe my story being that a few months prior, there was an issue with his cashier double charging my credit card for an item. It took him nearly 2 weeks to resolve the issue and instead of issuing a credit he made me pick out an item of the same value.

He told me the girl who work the register on Saturday at the time of my purchase wouldn't be in until 2pm and to come back at that time, that maybe she put the pants up. I came back at 5pm and he explained the young lady was out to lunch to come back in 45 minutes. I did that. When i confronted the cashier she explained she did not remember me and she was certain she always put customers product in their bag. I asked her if she recalled forgetting to put my belt in the bag until I brought it to her attention, and she denied ever seeing me at the store. Mustafa who is the store manager then explained to me that his cashier indeed put the pants in the bag. I again explained to him that it was nearly 29 degrees outside, no way would I be traveling back and forth to his store for a pair of 20$ pants if she had put them in my bag. The discussion became an argument until Mustafa abruptly told me to call the police while walking away because he was not giving me a refund or the pants. I in turn began to tell him this my second incident in this store with making purchases and I wanted my money of the merchandise.
