Needed to send a shipment to Italy where I was transferring. Was literally hounded by FID for my business which should have sent a red flag.
Very "cooperative" until they were paid and now refuse to answer simple questions regarding the shipment which was picked up in Florida in April and it is now June and the shipment is still not delivered.
They did nothing. We prepared the 2 pallettes and provided the inventory. I asked on more than one occasion if they needed the inventory translated into Italian. No. Ok. Fine.
AFTER the shipment left, we discovered that it would be clearing customs in England.in the shipment was a hWell there was a big problem in England regarding this rifle and it was confiscated and we incurred more expense than needed.in response to my question if all FID shipments to Italy go through England we were sent previous emails highlighting to contact our LOCAL consulate or embassy regarding shipping requirements. Well "LOCAL" in my dictionary is somwhere in the vicinity. Not France, or Spain, or germany or ENGLAND, but Italy. We had all the proper paperwork to bring in the firearm.
As a transport company I believe it is their fiduciary duty towards a customer to advise them that because a firearm was being shipped and it was clearing customs other than in Italy that there were other procedures to follow. They failed to disclose certain information
that a layman such as I would be aware of not being in the transport business.
We also paid for an insurance policy for which we never received a copy and for which I have my doubts that one was issued.
We are still waiting for the shipment to leave England and hopefully it will arrive soon.
They took our money and basically told us to f... K off - read your paperwork. Not what I consider a good way to do business, but hey, what goes around comes around.
We are also still waiting for answers to our simple questions and if they are not forthcoming
perhaps they will give them to our attorney.
Will never use these people again and would not recommend them to anyone.
