I am a Canadian and I own a small market research company. I was hired by a California-based service agency to provide services on a third party basis to their client, a large Ontario based Media Company.
The said services were provided as per the agreement and on time The California company has since been paid by the Ontario media magnate for the services provided by my company
But the California Company has not paid me - the invoice is now 9 months old I have tried to encourage them to settle the account for 6 months weeks but to no avail
Since they will not co-operate or respond in a mature and businesslike manner I would like to know what my legal options are.
I understand that I can get a judgment against the Ontario-based end user of my services.
Is this correct and what is involved? What section of Ontario law deals with this?
