Okay, it's been a very long day for me! But I'm takin a lil time out to keep my word to you about coming back with more information. Unfortunately, someone advised me not to put the true names of the workers of Moreno and Woods on the net. The advise was for obvious reasons and I tend to agree with what they said. It's important that I keep my information on a level that keeps the "personal" out; with me not involving some who still really need a job. That's ALL it is... A JOB! It will eventually be those individaul decisions to change what they do in life. But, for now, on with the show!!! The office of Moreno and Woods is one that is operated on a level that is very hard to understand. My superiors asked for many things to be done. But provided the workers with very little to work with. Many of the accounts we worked were out of stats, and we should not have been even allowed to touch them. We were required to call those accounts anyway, to see if we could get those individuals to pay what they often times knew they should not have been getting calls about. It was our job to "convince" them that they DID owe, and that the account needed to be paid immediately.in being the "good guys" in all of this, we sometimes gave them a little time (just a little) to come up with the funds needed to get their accounts paid. If their deadline time was not met after that, they found that most of us were required to get a bit more demanding in asking that they get their accounts paid. Listen... Even if those people never got their accounts paid, we really didn't bother to request suit on the account. Because we knew that there would be little we could prove in a court, especially in the way of the accounts still being within any statutory limits of collections. Another problem I had, while working at this office, was that we had no documentation to prove that these people had actually signed for or ordered credit cards from the issuers, or that they had been granted lines of credit from certain stores. We only had what is known as an "affidavit of assignment or ownership" to show that the office of Moreno and Woods had legally bought the debt from someone else down the "purchase chain." That chain could be another office foolish enough to have bought debt from another that knew the debt was no good. If you, as a debtor, are ever contacted about a debt from this office, then make sure that you demand PROOF OF THE DEBT. Demand that this information be sent to you, either by way of mail or fax, and demand that no contact be made until that proof be forwarded. You need to know that the account you (may) be paying is not one made by someone else, using your personal information. You should also make sure that, if you did create the account they call you about, it has an amount that has not been increased by Moreno and Woods in their quest for profit. They always increase the amounts of the accounts being held in their office. Although there are always interest rates factored into payments owed, there should be no way that anyone should have pay over $10,000.00 on an account that had an original balance owed of $1200.00!!! Even if the account had not been paid in over (six) 6 years!!! I have seen accounts that had original balances of $480.00 and payment was demanded for $4000.00 PLUS, with those people actually paying. All I can say is that fear makes you do a lot of things!!! It can make a mother pay an account because she thinks her child be in court the next week. It can make an old lady pay because she is not sure if she actually opened the account, or if another person in her family did so in her name or if the account was hers at all. All we had were social security numbers and contact information to use as proof. We had no proof of who did what. So the best thing to do was play on fears of possible punishment somehow. AGAIN, I SAY, DEMAND PROOF OF THE DEBT!!! If it can't be provided, then don't bother calling them back and demand, by way of letter, that they not contact you again until that proof is given.
