Terminated me because I wasn't as fast as the other tellers, I was there only 2 months

On Friday (05/29), I arrived to work and was about to begin my shift when Diane Caldwell (Assistant Branch Manager) told me to meet her in the office located in the rear of the facility. Once seated, she stated that she wanted to go over my performance with me. She stated that I didn't process some customer's transactions as quickly as the other tellers did. I immediately told her that I was trying my best, and that to my recollection I was doing somewhat well, as I didn't have any inaccuracies or mistakes with any of my transactions. She further stated that she had already spoken to the HR Department, and that they recommended that I resign from Chase. Later she stated that I was suspended pending termination. I was a bit confused at this point, I didn't know whether I was being forced to resign, suspended, or terminated.

I left the branch rather confused and very disappointed. After speaking to my attorney, I later I came back into the branch to ask her why hadn't I received any discharge documentation stating that I was terminated. She stated that because I was still within my introductory period, that she didn't have to provide any documentation. I thought it was rather strange that I wasn't allowed to finish my introductory period, as I was still learning new things on the job. I don't see why anyone would expect for me to be as fast as someone who has been there much longer than I have. Additionally, she clarified that I was in fact terminated. She stated that this process was new to her, and she apologized for giving me inaccurate information.

Prior to this meeting, Diane and I didn't get along to well. We had already had several meetings with the Branch Manager, but it didn't seem to change anything. I would have preferred to be transferred to another branch, or be placed in some other position at another location within the company. Every time I asked Diane a question, she seemed to get upset with me, and sometimes didn't bother to answer the question at all. I don't know what the problem was with her, as I had stellar attendance, very accurate when handling transactions, and was very courteous to all of the customers whom entered the branch.

She would even argue with me in front of the customers, just because I asked a question that she felt I should have known the answer to. She is a very intimidating person, and I believe she needs to undergo some extensive management training. I was reprimanded in front of other employees, which I felt was very humiliating and disrespectful. One employee even came up to me and asked if I was "staying out of trouble." That goes to show that she was discussing things about me with other employees. Before I was terminated, one employee had already known before I did. He jokingly stated that I may not be here to much longer.

I really enjoyed working for the company, I just feel as though this particular branch handled things in a very unprofessional way. I don't believe that I should have been terminated just because she believed I wasn't as fast as the other tellers whom have been there much longer than I have.
