10 Years Means Nothing - Customer Service

Today while running errands, I decided to shop at Sams Club. Recently I received a renewal form with a $10.00 voucher. When I left home in a hurry I forgot to grab my renewal info. The Sams Club I visited is about 40 miles from my home and I didnt want to turn arround and go back. I filled up a cart with my normal items est. $200.00 and went to the check out. They refused to searve me due to the fact that my card was expired (4) days. When I told them about the $10.00 voucher, no one could give me a strait answer as to if it would be honored if I renewed without it. The club was abnormally empty, a sign of the times. I asked if they would allow me to check out without renewing today, giving me another oppertunity to collect my renewal info and voucher. They refused, despite the fact that the club was dead. My ten years of loyalty meant nothing to them, it was if I was a transient off the steet. Often I have considered changing my membership to Costco, the way I was treated today made my decision a lot easier. Thanks Sams Club for treating me like a second class citizen. When you close your doors nationally, perhaps then you might consider entertaining a better customer service policy.
