First: www.Usa Consumer Complaints.com ("ROR") is an online forum created to help keep consumers informed. I would like to help with this task, informing consumers.
We moved out of state. You know those wonderful commercials, "we move it so you don't have to"? They tell you to leave your dish there and take the receivers and remotes with you. Our two-year contract was up when we relocated. We took the receivers and remotes, and DirecTV was at the new home in the new state quicker than you can blink.
We shipped one receiver back. The company continued to bill us for four receivers, and it has been over a year. We called them on numerous occasions and told them of this. We did not think we would have to send them a certified/return receipt notification. However, now it is clear that this company does not play by the rules and only answers to its "shareholders," not the customer.
Do you think they gave us our money back for the receiver we shipped them? No. Do you think we will ever see this money for the year they billed us? No. Do you honestly think they care? No, they don't. They only care about the bottom line and answering to their shareholders, period.
We called to cancel our service, and the rep was so nice, even offered us six months of free service! I told this young man that we were still waiting for our bill to reflect the correct number of receivers, at which point he claimed he was not sure why the account was reflecting four receivers. He also stated that his records did not show our previous address and/or service... How convenient. I stood firm in having my service canceled, and then this nice rep became more aggressive. I was told that our two-year contract was not up and we had one more year...??? No, we were in our third year in a new state, and the contract did not have any language about a new contract starting up when you move after your first two-year contract. He advised me that his records did not reflect the previous account because it was in another state. Long story short, he said we would be charged $XXX. XX for an early cancellation fee on the contract.
It is time to know where to direct consumer complaints about this company and be able to get results.
Did you know the FCC recently, February 9, gave DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC's application for a 17/24 GHz Broadcast Satellite Service space station to be operated at the 102.825 W.L. Orbit Location and their application was reinstated? How much help do you think the consumer is going to get with any complaints with the FCC?
