Charging me for a phone service I did not order and do not have, I reported it to customer service and they cancelled the service but are still charging me!

Verizon says we signed up for residential phone service on Christmas Eve of 2008. We did not especially on Christmas Eve! I got the first bill in January and contacted them right away.

I plugged in the phone that hasnt been plugged in in awhile, and there was no dial tone. So they said we had phone service but no phone would work in this house. The police showed up at ur house 3 times in a 1 month period saying that 911 had been called from our house. Uh??? We dont have a phone here.

I showed the officer the phone that hangs on the wall but is not plugged in. He tried calling the number and it either rang alot or not at all. He asked me if I had just unplugged it and I then showed him the bill with all my notes on it and he then beleived me.

So the cops are here several times I am being charged for a phone I did not order and that does not exist anyway, then, they charged me for 2 phone calls. How can I make a phone call when my phone is not plugged in and if you did plug it in there is no dial tone??? One call they said was to 411 at 2 AM. I dont even stay up til midnight. I contacted the pulic utilities commision and they ot me in contact with some "big wig" in customer service. She said she would take care of it and investigate.

She called me back a couple days later and had no explanation for any of it. I wanted her to send someone here to test the line before she closed the account and she insisted that was not necessary. (Proof I guess) So she closed the account and said I wouldnt be charged anything it was just a mistake. Well that was 2 months ago and I just got a bill again for $70.57. So I called the regular customer service and they were not helpful at all.

I was transferred twice and put on hold who know how long. Then I was told "yes there is a note to close the account but you are responsible for the calls you made so the balance is your responsibilty".

I hung up quick and called the lady i had spoke to before bacuase I kept all the info. A lady answered and I asked for the person and she said "ok can I tell her who's calling?" then put me on hold.

Then another lady got on the phone and said she was on vacation. (Ok why didn't the other girl know that?) She took all the info and said she would call back in a couple days.

Here we go again!!! The latest bill says it was sent to collections so I asked her to give me the name of the collections company, but she could not right then. I am seeing alot of this type of story on the internet, now I am being scammed too!
