My 1st problem with this company was when I took my half hour lunch period to pick up a new cell phone which was required by them for me to carry. Not to mention I had to pay for it. My key pad had locked up, rendering my old phone unusable. I had called my supervisor for approval to stop and pick up the phone and was told no problem. The next day I was written up and given disaplinary action. Even after my supervisor told the big boss she approved it. The next problem was when I hurt my back lifting a spool of aluminum by myself. The warehouse worker was not on time that day and I had no time to wait. It should be noted that they use forklifts to load the spools because of the weight. I hurt myself that morning but went on to make all my deliveries.By 3:00 pm while on my way back to the shop I called my supervisor to let her know I would need the next day off, because my back was very sore & tight. The company policy states you can take 2 days off without seeing a doctor. When I arrived at the shop I was told if I was gonna take the next day off that I would have to see a doctor. So I filled for workman's comp. It's a good thing I did, because I had ripped my lower back muscles pretty bad. I needed 7 weeks for them to heal. Within 7 weeks of me coming back to work, they changed their policy which would make me have to carry full rolls of aluminum instead of spinning off shorter amounts like before my comp case, which they fought me on. To make sure I would not be able to continue my employment with the company, they put out a memo changing the spinning off of shorter amounts to be stopped. And load only full rolls from that day on. Well if it takes a forklift to load them, then whats that say for me when it came time for me to handle them by myself? So against my wishes I was forced to resign. This company did not pay the employees for Holiday's that they closed for. I have been working for 36 years and never worked for a place that used the workers like animals. I'm so glad to be away from that place that its worth being unemployed.
