Back in October we contacted Homestead Protection Services, through their web advertisement, to help us find a way to save our home as advertised. Once they receive d our information, the only solution given to us was to Short Sale our home. When I agreed to a shortsale, they said that that to begin the process, they need $ 1500. I paid them via electronic transfer from my bank. A week later, I decided to get further help and advice locally and decided that I would like to get a refund of my money. Homestead Protection Services declined to give my money back, even though they didn't do anything with my back. It's also difficult to get a hold of them.
I'm currently working with an agent that they assigned but they don't keep her informed of the status of the negotiations with my lender for the short sale. Our realtor is great but she hopes she can do the negotiations with the lender instead of HPS. It seems that there is very little progress using HPS.
