Telemarketing sales when YOU call THEM!!!...
I had my four magazines in hand that I would be ordering from. I tallied up my order, it was going to cost $400.00 for everything I had marked. After being greeted by an automated message and pushing a bunch of buttons, I finally got a salesgirl, emphasis on the sales part. Everytime I gave her an order number she would try to sell me something from a different page. Each time, I would calmly let her know that I still had other parts of the set to order (Ex. I would order a suit jacket, she would suggest a thong. I would refuse and continue with ordering the suit skirt, and then have to interupt her again, during her sales pitch, to let her know I also wanted to order the suit pants. Urgh!)
Finally, I told her that I would be dropping a cool $400 (before shipping and handling) today and that I would like to just order what I found attractive the first 50 times I looked through the catalog and not buy something they are trying to unload on me based off of compulsion. Thinking our ten minute conversation might be nearing the end, she starts with the Victoria's Secret high annual percentage credit card pitch. Fine, perhaps it is the law now, but then she tells me because I spent so much money, I am entitled to 'preview' magazines for 30 days. Whew!
Buyer beware: Don't call the 800 number unless 1) You know how to say NO, NO, NO! And 2) Unless you are bed-ridden, lonely to talk to someone and have a bunch of time on your hands! I suggest mailing your payment in via the handy order form in the catalog - it doesn't save any more time by calling. Half of my sets are on back order for four months (July 4th; it is April 7th today), so I can't wear what they do send until its other halves arrive four months from now, anyway. I could have mailed the order form in the opposite direction around the world and they still would not have the merchandise off back order yet. I could go to Malaysia and make it myself a lot quicker! Ohh Boy! Someone tell me if they know of a better store to support. I am getting sick of these huge impersonal corporations!
