This is the second time MCI has billed my son. He used 10-10-220 and should have been billed $5. They billed him through MCI and the bill was $101.89.
The first time I called them and they claimed it was a "computer glitch". They immediately gave me a corrected total for the bill. How could they give me a corrected price so fast if it was not an automated function? Why would they automate a function for a one time computer glitch?
They knew which calls were misbilled without asking, despite the fact that they were intermixed with calls that were not mis-billed. BUT, they did not offer to correct the amounts until I demanded a change. They also never sent a revised bill, even though they said they had known of the error.
There is NO downside to mis-billing calls. They appologize and get paid the right amount. There is a BIG upside to mis-billing calls. A lot of poeple pay the bills without looking.in my fist encounter with this practice I was billed 80 times the correct rate. Now I have another where I an billed 20 times the correct price. At that rate they stand to make millions JUST off the mis-billings.
10-10-200 needs to be shut down until they can produce and honest product at an honest price. The government needs to audit there records and force them to repay any and all mistakes plus a penalty.
