Walmart #2592 Wal-Mart accuses shopper of using fake $100 bill when in fact the bill is very real

My wife and I visited Wal-Mart store 2592 on the evening of March 7th. We frequently go there, and my wife is in fact a Wal-Mart employee who is on a leave of absence as she is 8 months pregnant. Everything was fine until we went to check out. During the check out process, my wife handed a $100 bill that she had gotten from her bank to the "cashier".

The cashier examined the $100 bill, and without telling us why she called over someone named Terrance, who was supposed to be a manager or another cashier, he did not introduce himself. He also held the bill up to the light, and then stated "we can't take this there's no strip." Of course it has no strip, it's a 1950s series D... They didn't have strips then.

After he said that my wife informed him that he got it from the bank, and he stated in a sarcastic tone "well the bank gave you fake money" in front of the other customers standing around. My wife was embarrassed and upset that he would call her out like that, especially when the bill was real. He stated we could try to take it "somewhere else" and "hope they don't check it" if we wanted to. Yeah, that would work out real well. Nothing like being told by a random minimum wage associate that you have to pretend to be a criminal to use a real $100 bill.

Instead of starting a big fight we left as she was very upset. I called the bank immediately, and they were more than willing to help and asked me to bring it in on Monday to exchange it.

I can't believe the audacity of the employees at that store. I informed my wife that I will not have her working for that company after her maternity leave because of the incident. I could live with the employees walking in front of you and ignoring you when you ask for assistance, but to call out someone for using a REAL $100 bill in your store is insane.

I would highly recommend not shopping at that location, and to especially avoid Terrence. I would also avoid the cashier, but I do not have her name. Wal-Mart should issue my wife a written apology, and make their employees take a money recognition class.
