The Broaddus Agency is a lying dishonest business. If this company contacted you via monster.com or you applied over the internet do not go in for an interview!
This company seems real, but is really a fake and a waste of time!
I rescently graduated from Washington State University with BA in Business Administration. I had sales experience but not in a corporate setting which is what I was looking for. I was contacted over the internet for an interview for which I went to.
I researched the company, and asked the right questions in the interview. The gentlemen interveiwing me named Eric was also a college grad and informed me that he had been doing quite well in the business.
I asked the right questions in the interview to keep myself from getting involved in companies such as this. But they lied. I asked what the "day to day routine was of the position they were looking for me to fill was like." I got big general answers that made it sound like a they had lunch meetings with a VP from Microsoft.
Wanting to believe what they said, as the state of the economy is horrible and a job is a job. I put my faith and showed up for a follow-up interview the following weekend. I walk into the small cramped office they had in Renton, Washington where 5 to 6 other applicants were also waiting. Each person was called in individually and teamed up with a current employee and they left togethor.
I was called in and teamed with Romain. I was told that Romain is going to take you on a "job shadow" and would show you the basics of the position and then we would meet back at the office for a closing interview with the department head, Ms. Broaddus.
This is where it gets crazy... We proceed to Romain's car, a 1982 broken down ford escort and he tells me we are driving to one of his territories to meet with some businesses and discuss our sales promotions. I ask again, before we get fully underway what the "day to day life is of the position, " he answers similar to his counterpart with broad generalizations. Not having anything else to do, but being somewhat suspicious I proceed with him thinking I can say I am not interested at anytime.
We drive 2 hours outside of Tacoma to a town called Winstock Washington where Romain proceeds to "meet with some businesses" about consolidating phone lines! We walk everywhere from gas station to hair salon trying to get people to consolidate phone lines. Only after 2 hours into this and forcing me to drive with him and walk all over town does he explain that he gets no base salary, expenses are not paid for, and you get paid per phone line that you consolidate!
And he only explained after I forced him to cut out the sh*t so to speak and tell me what the job was!
Well needless to say I made him drive me back to Renton, a 2 and a half hour drive, so I could salvage something of my day.
Do NOT believe what these people tell you. I asked all the questions so I would not be tricked into this situation. They will waste your time and your money.
There are sales positions out there that do give a great base salary, a full expense account and huge commissions on sales... I currently have such a position.
Do not waste your time with this company!
