In August of we interviewed Mr. Sandless (in St. Louis) representatives about their process and warranty. We asked numerous time if the floor would keep its shine over the warranty period. Every time, (including just yesterday after multiple complaints) they responded with the same line; "If you use our cleaning product and follow the instructions, it will. We have done just that with their product we purchased and their cleaning instructions. After paying the technician, they handed us a relatively worthless warranty against peeling, cracking, chipping or yellowing. When I addressed the yellowing, I was simply told, "Well our product does not yellow". There was nothing about keeping its finish on the Warranty. However, on the website they clearly state that their product performs as well as urethene. We had urethene for 5 years with no problems whatsoever and in year 6 thought we would try Mr. Sanldess. Unfortunately we fell victim to their misrepresentation and false advertising.
In December we complained that the floor had dulled dramatically in the traffic areas. Under the table and furniture was still very shiny and glossy. We had requested our money back. They came out and agreed with us that it was not right and offered to put a new industrial product on the floor. It is now February and we filed another complaint. Again, they sent a technician out who agreed with us that the dulling was just not right but now said they could come out and put a sealer on it. We told him no. The manager of the business, Rachel had told us back in December that they would try the new product in lieu of returning our money and if that did not work she would go to the owner with our refund request. We simply refusaed to have them put another inferior product on our floor and demanded a refund. They now claim that, even though the product did not do what it was intended (by their technician's admission) they were not obligated to refund our money because there was no peeling, cracking, chipping or yellowing. It is a brown floor, but Rachel still disallowed the yellowing because she clims the product just does not yellow. (Althought Rachel never saw the floor, they obviously do not beleive the technician they sent out who told us to our face that it was not right.)
The manager did not seem to recognize or care that their verbal confirmation that the floor would not dull if properly maintained and their written claim on the website that the product performs as good as urethene was a gross misrepresentation that caused us to make the decision to hire them.
Of course, we have asked numerous times to speak to the local franchise owner, Mr. Kevin Sprouse, but Mr. Sprouse refuses to call. Perhaps if Mr. Sprouse has a confrontation phobea, he should get a job that incorporates integrity into the product, service and representations.
