My story is the same as most of the other ones that I have been reading. My husband and I were contacted through the mail concerning our son via a letter asking for us to contact them about setting him up in the agency. I called and spoke with someone and we traveled the 2 hours to meet with them in Illinois.
Once we got to the modeling agency - they spoke with both my husband and myself and we had taken both of children with my daughter being the just 6 months old and my son being 3. We were told by kids.com that the letter was in reference to our son but that they would also represent out daughter as well.
They stated we would get a better price by having two of them so we thought that we did not want to hold anything back so we would find a way to come up with the $895 for both kids. We left them a deposit of $200 and then they would take the money directly from our account over the next 5 months.
We also had to take our kids from MI to IL to have pics done 2 times a year and if they were not updated our kids would be removed. Our photos were $20 per kid for the photo shoot - in order to by the pics we would have had to come up with a fortune. Don't get me wrong the pics looked great - but the cost was out there.
We got letter's every six months letting us know that is was time to update the pics and we would have to call to set up the time to take them to IL to get the pics done. Needless to say neither of our children got anything out of it and we were not told if anybody had requested their pictures or not.
It was a very frustrating experience all the way around and being young parents I feel like we were taken advantage of through the love of our children.
I sincerely regret ever giving these people the time of day, time and money that I had invested. What a rip off and scam and I hope that they get what they have coming to them.
