Scam artist Rip-off does not pay money owed for consignment may be in antiques business

Connie Sorensen is a scam artist!

Do not consign, give anything to this person, or expect her to pay for services!

She still owes me almost $900 and has ripped off many, many other people, and still is!

1997 address: PO Box 111, Plum City, WI 54761
1997 phone: 715-647-2509

On August 9,1997 my husband and I brought 22 pieces of antique clothing to Connie Sorensen, a dealer at Mill Antiques in Stillwater MN, to sell on consignment. At that time she said we would be receiving a check in the mail each month as the clothing was sold. Nothing came, we were patient and then at the end of December 1997 we called, and she said shed be sending a check. Again we received nothing.

Every couple of months after that we either called or went up there to talk to her, to no avail. It was a different excuse every time as to why she could not pay us.

On July 27,1998 I filed a formal complaint with the MN Chamber of Commerce. Finally on August 2,1998 we went to Mill Antiques because she said she had some money for us. We did get $186, with many pieces of clothing still unaccounted for.in a reply letter to the Chamber of Commerce, she wrote she would be sending $20 payments each month. Never did we receive any more money from her.

Only once did she attempt to call us to let us know what was going on and this was after much complaining on my part in October of 1998.

She also deliberately mislead us on how much money we were supposed to get after the clothing sold. When we first brought the clothing to Mill Antiques, the way she explained it is she would take our prices, add on her profit, and then we would get the money for the price we were asking, or close to it, depending on what the item sold for.

Then on August 2 1998, when we went to pick the money up, she stated that we would receive 50% of the selling price, which is considerably less profit than what she originally told us.

In October of 1998, and only after more complaining on my part, she wrote a 1 page letter explaining why she hasnt been able to pay the money owed. Basically she tried to make us look bad, and tried to make everyone feel sorry for her.

In April of 1999 I was told by the owner of Mill Antiques that Sorensen is now gainfully employed and that was the last Ive heard anything.

Please check out my website for more information, and I also typed up the scam letter she wrote.
