On March 6 we placed 12 pieces of art and 2 antiques with AAA Team Auctions, Antique & Art Dealers LLC. We paid $250 for an appraisal of the antiques and signed a contract for 35% commission on any pieces she sold.
Lucy Knopf agreed to an asking price of $1999 for one of the art pieces. She then claimed she sold it for $1500 and then in writing demanded 35% commission on the sold piece plus she also retains the remaining 65% of the proceeds for a total cost of 100% commission. She also demanded $460.56 as a "handling" fee to return the remaining 11 pieces of art plus an additional 127.75 plus $480 if we want the antiques returned.
In short, out of 16 pieces of art she sold 1 piece and demanded $2566 if we wanted our property returned to us. She is not in business to sell art or antiques. She is in business to ripoff starving artists and struggling individuals who are foolish enough to trust her with their valuable possessions.
