Crown Temporary Services in Springdale Ohio had an ad advertise jobs for a major bank along with the goverment doing various jobs at the pay of $9.00 an hour to $15.00 an hour back in October.. I applied and took various testing regarding the position I applied for which was Data Entry. I was told to come back the following week and do the testing again, which I did. I was given a bunch of paperwork to take to the bank to get my fingerprints done. Which I did on 11/04/08... And to call back 11/11/08 to get the results.
I called back and the report was not there. I was told to call back again in another week. Then another, Then another. It came to be 6 weeks before the temp agency located my report from the government regarding my prints. They even told me to go look for another job cause it looks like my report would never come thru. It was still enough time as the job was to start 01/07. I drove over 100 miles round trip to get those prints done.
So the last week of December I called the temp agency to ask who I report to and when to show up. I was then told that you have to have all this id along with your birth certificate before you can work. And that my start date was changed until 01/15, I was not told that. You people had 2 months to tell me what I needed to bring with me and never said a word. So I spent $46.00 to get my birth certificate sent to me ASAP.
So today I called back to the temp agency and was told I do not start on the 01/15 as I was told in December, but now I don't have a job, that they gave it to someone else cause I had to wait for my birth certificate to come. I told the lady that it took only 2 business days for it to arrive. And that I have been waiting since October for this position that I was told that I had. I followed all their rules, jump thru hoops for this position. They kept changing things and blamed it on the US government for all my mix up. Like my fingerprint report getting lost. And my start date changing..
Now the real truth comes out that Crown screwed up and cannot admit to anything. I have 14 years of experience in the job I was going to do and just getting paid $10.75 was a slap in the face, but now days I can use all the money I can get. When you have been living on credit cards.
I felt that I have been lied to and that they cannot admit their own screw up and now caused the government lost of good working people. When you have been waiting for 2 and 1/2 months for your job than to at the last minute have it pulled out from under you, I think something should be done with the temp services who lies, never have jobs, screws up all the time and of course everyone else is at fault, never the temp service. There is some good ones out there, but beware of the ones who promises jobs and have ya sitting at home ready to go into bankruptcy. Then give you the attitude that they are better than you and too many other people are looking for work so you're just another body to some of them.
I am so tired of signing up for temp services promising jobs for me and taking all sorts of test and still sitting at home living on credit cards to keep warm and to have food for my family..
