I received a call here at my office in California from a woman calling herself Calandra Smallwood claiming to be with Verizon. She gave me her call back number as 888-900-1342 xt. 119. I asked her directly several times if she was employed by Verizon and she said that she was. I answered two of her questions then I put her on hold and called the number she gave me only to hear the recording say TelNet Marketing Group. At this point I got back on the phone with her told her that I knew she wasn't with Verizon and terminiated the call. I then called Verizon directly to alert them that I might be slammed only to find out that I had ALREADY been slammed within 10 minutes of the scam phone call. Verizon has since changed all of our services back to what they were and put a freeze on our account. I have filed complaints with the FCC and the California Public Utility Commission.
It is illegal for a company to claim to be a specific telephone service provider if they are not. If you have had calls from this company I urge you to call your service providers and make sure that you have not been slammed and have them put a freeze on your account so that any changes that are made have to be made by you.
