My son bought my wife and myself two prepaid Visa debit cards at Walmart. We tried to activate them on line, but did not have the validation number that was on the receipt. We had to call the 1-800 number. After a lengthy time, we were able to talk with a person. Like the other complaint, we had to give them a huge amount of information. We were also informed that a monthly service fee of $4.95 would start being charged to the card and that this charge would start 1-11-09.in the mean time, my son called and told us that he had to pay $9.00 for each card.
This has to be the biggest ripoff I have ever seen. I can promise you this, my wife and I both work for a company that emplyees hundreds of people and we are going to make sure that each of them knows what a ripoff this is. There is a new Target being built in our community where we will start shopping instead of Walmart I can promise you that.
