I received a letter from GE money Bank on JCPenney Letter Head and Business envelope. At the time I thought. Oh God, they have raised my limet again!!! Yet to my surprise...
I have had a JCPenney account for 25 years! I have always been extremely faithful to JC Penney, always prompt on paying my bill, before it was due and always paid more than the minimum payment! JC Penney Always came first to get paid, always... I loved my JC Penney account and was very proud to have an account with them.
I always bought my 2 boy's school clothes thru JC Penney, Christmas Gifts for them and others... And in the past 5 years have bought for my grandchildren,
Last year my credit line was raised to around 3500.00 (maybe a little more). It scared me at first, knowing I didn't want to get caught with a real high balance with them, so I watched it carefully, using it especially at ChristmasTime!
This year I placed an order on-line at www.jcpenney.com, for gifts for my grandchildren/knowing this was about the only way christmas would happen at my house this year! I Thanked God for my JC Penney Account! Needless to say instead of the order I placed, I received a letter from GE Money Bank on JCPenney letter head and envelope, When I read the enclosed letter, my heart immediately sunk, I got sick, literally sick to my stomach, I couldn't even bring myself to tell my fiance', I felt very belittle, very ashamed and not worthy of a JCPenney account. I did not understand why they would cut my credit line to $50.00 above the balance on my account, as I stated above I always placed JC Penney ahead of anything else! Always!
I was devastated to read the contents of that letter, what was I going to do, I have no way to supply a good christmas for my grandchildren (To whom rely on me) as my youngest son, got laid off from work and my oldest son was in a blasting accident and is extremely lucky to be alive~ they look to me to make sure their children have a good christmas, as I always have. My children did not ask me to do anything for them, they just know how I am! I love to see my grandchildren's excitement and the twinkle in their eyes on christmas!
I thought, after reading the letter, I will just have to use my Walmart card and my PayPal account! Right! Cannot do that either! GE Money bank cut my limits on those also!!! I was totally devastated and still am!
I didn't say anything to anyone, then when I sat down to pay my JCPenney account today, I just burst into tears, as not only had they cut my credit line, but they also changed the due date to the 3rd of the month, it is now the 5th of the month! After crying my eyes out, I immediatrely called them and they reset the due date to my previous date, I was crying so hard I could barely speak and I asked the manager to place a note on my account that I feel GE Money bank was totally unfair and that I had this account 25 years.
Yes I do have some things on my credit now, that was out of my control, but I had this account for 25 years and feel I had shown my creditworthiness and faithfulness to them... They have taken away any chance of me giving my children and grandchildren the kind of Christmas they deserve and I hope they have "Happy Holidays and Sleep Very Well at night knowing what they have done to so many!
I thought people in the United States had compassion for others... Guess I was wrong. The people that have lots of money, don't give a d*n about the little guy, who struggles each day!!!
I honestly hope someone can do something about this situation that has affected so very many!
To everyone affected by this horrible situation: Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone, and Please enjoy your families this holiday and to hell with JC Penney and GE Money Bank!!!
