Pine Belt Chevrolet
Bad service

I was 19 at the time and my vehicle that I had the transmission blew So I decided to go buy a brand new vehicle from Pine Belt Chevrolet. I was interested in the Chevrolet Cobalt LS 4 door 2007 brand new with 16miles on it. The salesperson was Kevin (who now doesn't even work there they told me he got fired). Since I was a first time buyer I was qualified to purchase a brand new vehicle. My credit was a zero. I wanted to build my credit up so I thought this would be the perfect way to build it. Kevin ran my credit and everything and came back to tell me that I didn't qualify for the power windows, seats, ect. Ect. So I said okay i'll just get the crank up windows and such. Wasn't that big of a deal. They didn't even tell me that I was even qualified for a loan from any bank. Considering I am disabled and collected almost 1grand a month from social security disability and bought in proof of income. They overpriced me on my vehicle!!! They charged me over 19 grand for a chevrolet cobalt when a car like that should be going for no more than 12 grand!!! Kelly blue book value for a chevrolet cobalt ls 4door is priced just under 16 grand. My License plates were suppose to be in. I kept driving back and forth from Keansburg to Lakewood everyday checking in to see if my plates were in. They were playing head games with me. It was well over 3 weeks that my temporary tags in my back window were expired which ment I could have gotten a ticket or even worse with the way the Police are around here in Ocean/Monmouth County. I had my FATHER come in and be like "hey whats going on why isn't my daughters plates in for the vehicle" They gave some lame a$ excuse that they couldn't find a bank loan for me, AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO RESIGN PAPERWORK ALL OVER AGAIN. Why would they even sell me the vehicle in the first place if they didn't know that I couldn't even get a bank loan to begin with? Well I finally got my plates in. Everything seemed to be going great till Now. My fuses keep blowing, My treads on my tires are worn down to NOTHING! POOR QUALITY TIRES they put on my vehicle, My POWER STEERING WENT! I have defective seat belts on the passenger side WHICH HAVE FAILED TWICE where it locks in and chokes my husband every time he sits in the seat. I went back to Pine Belt on several different occasions to try and trade in my vehicle for a used one. I was on some kind of mailing list from this baby registry that my Husband signed me up for and someone from Pine Belt contacted me and asked me what kind of vehicle am I interested in. I told her I was interested in an SUV that is good on gas since the gas prices are outrageous! She said I have a PT CRUISER, CHEVROLET HHR, and a Saturn Vue. I said I would love to come in and take a look at the Saturn Vue. Me and my husband went down there to check it out. Boy was this SUV a beauty! I fell in love with it as soon as I took it for a test drive it was like a dream come true they even put a sticker on the front windshield stating "NOT FOR SALE" which they gave me the impression that I had a real good chance at purchasing this vehicle. The salesman that helped me out his name was Joe. Big guy. He ran my credit, Came outside and told me and my husband that he has never seen such terrible credit in his life. So I was like okay its hard to build up your credit when your living on a tight budget and trying to make ends meet for your family. I was like well I certainly do NOT want this vehicle anymore I will do ANYTHING to get rid of it. He told me to drive my Chevrolet Cobalt up to NYC to the projects and leave my car doors unlocked so someone can either steal my car or strip it to nothing. THEN he said that I should sell my car to a stranger on the streets without my bill of sale. Are you kidding me? I couldn't even report him to the Personal Relations woman for Pine Belt since she left for the day. My husband called her up the next day complaining about how cr AT ppy our service was and how RUDE Joe was. Joe told me not to come back unless I have 10grand in CASH in my pocket for a vehicle that was selling for less than 10grand (Saturn Vue). Now let me remind you this. Last August I was going to trade my car in again because I had a really good friend that was handicapped and I needed a big enough vehicle to fit his wheelchair in. He told me that I needed 5grand to get a used SUV Vehicle. Now all of the sudden I need 10grand? Are you kidding me? Anyways the personal relations woman which I forgot her name she even told me not to come back into Pine Belt unless I have cash in my pocket. I'm having such a hard time with this vehicle. 3 days after this whole incident happened with Pine Belt I almost got into a serious car accident on Rt. 571 someone ran a stop street and my car spun out, did a 360 in the middle of Rt. 571 and I almost hit a woman on the sidewalk while she was taking out her trash. I literally had a nervous breakdown. Now let me remind you I am 18 weeks pregnant and I don't need a vehicle that is going to jeopardize my life, my husbands life, or my child's life as well. Something needs to be done. I was just going over my paperwork from Pine Belt and it stated on the last page which says

Why buy at pine belt chevy in lakewood? We can think of a few reasons...

#1 a reputation of honesty and integrity. = lies

#2 lifetime warranty with every purchase = lies

#3 highest customer satisfaction index in the U.S. = lies

#4 guaranteed credit approval = the biggest lie i have ever seen in my life these people are con-artists

#5 courtesy shuttle service and loaner vehicles = a big lie

#6 free regularly scheduled oil changes = lies

#7 customer friendly sales and service = the biggest bald face lie i have ever seen in my life the staff members are uncalled for. I walked away that day literally in tears. The salesman joe literally discriminated me and put me in a bad position. Not to mention i am paying $350.00 a month for this lemon that i bought.

#8 15 day no questions asked exchange policy = lies

The public relations woman from pine belt also said that my former salesman kevin that sold me the vehicle claims that he lost all commission on the vehicle. How the hell can you loose commission on a vehicle that you overpriced and sold a 19 year old to?

A month later i was at friendlys with my husband and my family. The former salesman "joe" comes walking in with his wife as me and my husband were sitting outside getting some fresh air. Joe turned to his wife and made a rude and unprofessional comment to his wife about me. He even had his pine belt uniform on. Thats how i recognized him immediately.

I will never ever buy from pinebelt ever again and i made sure that i spread the word to my family and friends about how rude and unprofessional pine belt is.

Buyers beware of pine belt chevrolet in lakewood on rt. 88. They are nothing but rip offs and they will screw you over like they did to me.
