In April of I purchased a 2009 Pontiac Vibe from Pine Belt of Freehold NJ.in August I had my first incident of "sudden acceleration" my car has a Toyota Matrix engine. Pine Belt instructed me to bring it to a Pontiac dealer for the recall, which I did, this did not solve the problem.
Not only were there four other incidents, one resulted in an accident; there were also passengers in the car on two of the occasions. I have service records and I also found a website with 26 pages of 2009 Vibe complaints, many of them with the same problem as mine.
I have been in touch with the the CFO of Pine Belt in Lakewood, he instructed me to contact a rep at GM, who was supposed to help me. To date, no one has helped me. I have called and emailed dozen's of times. This car should not be on the road, it is a "time bomb."
All I have been asking is that GM and Pine Belt work together to do the right thing and put me in a safe car with the same payments. I have not asked for a settlement or a "free car".
GM thinks Pine Belt is responsible and Pine Belt thinks GM is responsible, in the meantime I am driving an unsafe car and I get the feeling that nothing will be done until something catastrophic happens. I do not have the money to buy another car, so I am left to drive a car that at any time could catapult as it has five other times.
