Magic Touch Carpet Cleaning & Restoration
Awful everything

We have had our carpets cleaned several times and are very familiar with what is expected and what we will receive for our money. When the two technicians arrived at our home, they of course began trying to 'upsell' their services and we explained that at this time, we can only afford what we initially hired them for and the cleaning offer as listed on our mailing. As one tech was doing the work I had a conversation with the other who attempted to continually upsell & then convince me that they were 'probably doing more harm than good.' I told him that when they attempt to upsell so much, it appears as though they have no faith in their work. He responded by telling us that 'what they are actually doing is pulling the dirt from under the carpet to the visible surface and removing the teflon from our carpets... But if it's not in your budget, it's not in your budget...' I asked what the sense was in them sending the coupons out advertising 'Carpet CLEANING' and he admitted it was just to 'get in the door.' As for the cleaning part he said, 'They may as well call it making mud!'

I could not believe how brazen and blunt this technician was being with me! The actual 'cleaning' was unusually quick, especially for 5 rooms and a hallway.

As it was being wrapped up, I walked the house and saw several areas were not even damp and still had a couple of pieces of small debris, a sure indication that the carpets were not even touched. I asked why certain areas were so dark and the 'bold' tech exclaimed that that was pretty much what I should have expected.' The tech that did the work issued the work order/took payment as I told him it was the worst carpet cleaning I had ever seen. He told me that 'it will improve when it dried.' I said I hope so because I would hate for you guys to have to come back out...

Obviously, it did not! We called that same day and CORY answered and claimed to be a manager. He stood behind their incompetence and poor service and told us that since we did not pay the ridiculously increased amount they quoted us that there is nothing they will do for us. My husband explained that we were better off having them not come to our home and that our carpets looked worse than when they arrived... I would understand if the few particular spots still partially remained, but there are now distinct streaks of dirt along our carpet which their machine made! Cory ended up hanging up on my husband, TWICE! Come to find out, when my husband called again Tuesday, 10-28-08, Cory is 'just a tech.' This was from 'Co-Owner/Partner of Brian Schwieger.' My husband again explained that our carpets looked worse after their service and he again stood by their sorry business practices and poor work. I then called again 10-31-08 in order to get owner's name so that I may send him pictures of the signs at that I am posting at each intersection in our area, writing the BBB, placing ad in neighborhood newsletter that I am on the board of, and posting our experience every possible website I had access to. The receptionist was very hesitant to give the owner's name and couldn't care less about my discontent.

Magic Touch Carpet Cleaning is an all around SHADY service company and it is apparent that everyone employed, part-owner, management and staff combined are consistent in poor customer service! We gave them ample opportunity to correct their service mistakes!
