They Don't Follow Through With Plans for Your Big Day

DO NOT use Kaleidoscope if you want the plans you made with Mr. Joey Kimbrough for your wedding to be followed. I was married in late September & throughout the planning process, Mr. Kimbrough was very kind & helpful. However, on my wedding day, he DID NOT do what he said he was going to do. Some of the problems included: (1) There were no zinnias in any of the arrangements or bouquets. Our contract specifically stated sunflowers, gerbera daisies, dahlias and zinnias. (2) The kissing ball for the miniature bride was totally wrong. We had agreed on silk flowers that matched the bridal bouquet & something small. The miniature bride was only 18 months old. The kissing ball we received was fresh, white roses & it was terribly heavy. (3) The flowers for the ceremony were to be an all around design, also for use at the reception. The arrangements we received were not an all around design & could not be used appropriately at the reception. (4) The brown columns for the front of the church were in horrible condition. They were old and sratched terribly. (5) The ferns used for the ceremony looked horrible. It was discussed among several people that hopefully the photographer would be able to use Photoshop to make the ferns look larger & fuller. (6) The bows that were to be used on the door where the reception was taking place were not used at all, due to the fact that there was nothing to hang them with. If we had been told in advance by Mr. Kimbrough, or his staff, that we would need to provide something to hang the bows, we would have gladly taken care of that. (7) Several of the flowers were wilted before the ceremony began at 2:00.

We contacted Mr. Kimbrough by letter 20 days after the wedding. He responded with a handwritten letter on paper torn from a steno pad. He admitted no fault, saying that there were zinnias in the bouquet, because he had designed it himself (no one at the wedding could find the zinnias & he didn't mention the other arrangements); the kissing ball was correct & designed with an 18 month old in mind (she was a miniature bride and her flowers were supposed to look like mine & if it were silk, as it should have been, it would have been lighter); the arrangements at the front were an all around design, but not completely the same, because the cost would have been too high & if he had done it all around at that cost, the arrangements would have been small (we did not give him a budget); & if we were unhappy with the ferns and/or columns, all we needed to do was call that day. Mr. Kimbrough did not mention the wilted flowers or bows that weren't used. He went on to say that they offered 100% satisfaction guaranteed, but this was the first he had heard about any problems (it was 20 days there was a honeymoon & it takes a day or two to settle in) & all we had to do was call that day. He stated that someone from the florist was there twice that day & we should have let them know then so that the problem could be corrected. The florist was supposed to be at the church at 8:00 (showed up after 8:30) & they were to come back at noon to put flowers on the cake. Pictures started at 10:00. Mr. Kimbrough did not consider the fact that the wedding party, including the bride & her mother (the only two people he had spoken with throughout the planning process), had to be ready for pictures & that included getting ready not worrying about whether or not the flowers were right. Mr. Kimbrough did not offer a refund or any specific apology just I'm sorry you were disappointed' & he disputed our word about the zinnias & the kissing ball. Furthermore, we should not have had to call at all that day everything should have been done right the first time. We had spoken specifically about our wishes and for some reason Mr. Kimbrough chose not to follow them, nor take responsibility for his inadequacy. Again, DO NOT use Kaleidoscope Florist & Joey Kimbrough if you expect your specific wishes for your wedding day flowers to be followed!
