Fiftyflowers.com - bulk flower delive

I ordered the "boldly blue" wedding centerpieces from fiftyflowers.com for my wedding on 9/19/09. As they suggested, I had the flowers delivered 2 days before the event (on 9/17) so they would rehydrate and open up. The flowers did arrive on time and in good condition. The flowers were closed. My mom and bridesmaid unpacked them and arranged them as per the website's instructions.

Friday night I noticed that my "boldly blue" flowers seemed awfully white: they also had lillies which weren't included in the descriptions and did not have a lot of other flowers they should have had. Saturday I could tell that the lillies were pink. At this point, we used the flowers because the wedding started in 2 hours. The centerpieces I got were 85% white, 10% pink lillies, and 5% baby blue flowers - definately not "boldly blue."

This morning (9/22) I finally got the relatives out of my house and I called them with a complaint. They requested photos of the flowers so I complied. The alleged head of their complaint department called me. She stated that the description says there may be "some" white flowers - I got 85% white. She apologized that the lillies were pink rather than white. She would not comment on the lack of blue except to say the description said "some white."

Additionally, she stated that 2 days after the event was too late to complain. She stated that I should have called when I got the flowers (which weren't open yet so you can't tell what color they were) or on Saturday morning (the day I got married.) She also stated that if I complained Sunday - the day most people start the honeymoon - she could have opened a complaint.

Basically, fiftyflowers.com asserted that a description on "boldly blue" that includes "some white" is the same as an arrangement that is 85% white, 15% pink, and 5% blue. Fiftyflowers.com also told me "sorry, you complained too late so we won't do anything." They seem to think it is reasonable for the bride to spend several hours on her wedding day filing a complaint about their poor performance: if the bride does not interupt the proceedings around her wedding day to complain they have no responsibility to fulfill their obligations.
