April McNosky from AprilMayJune Designs did the flowers for my recent wedding. While the flowers were not a complete disaster, I was very disappointed in several aspects of the service and arrangements.
First, April was an hour-and-a-half late to the venue for setup. When we called her to ask where she was, she was not very polite and claimed that we had agreed on a different arrival time.
Second, she had to leave while setting up the reception ballroom, because she did not bring enough supplies. She did not finish with the setup until I was leaving for the ceremony, which made it impossible for the photographer to get pictures of the completed ballroom.
Third, the centerpieces and my bouquet were not as we discussed. I provided April with detailed pictures for my bouquet, and she ensured me she understood what I wanted and could recreate the bouquet pictured. While my bouquet was beautiful, it was not done on the same scale as the picture I gave her.
Her version was smaller and used less flowers, which irritated me because I paid for the bouquet in the picture. Where there were two rows of roses in the picture, she only did one. Also, for the centerpieces I used a design she had in one of her books.
However, the version she did for me was not as nice. I mentioned my concerns about the centerpieces when I saw them, and she said she just had to work on them... But they were the same when I came back.
Overall, April's attitude and service were not acceptable.in an industry with abundant competition, customer service should be a priority. I told her exactly what I wanted and provided her with pictures. Any wedding florist could have made what I was asking for, so the service should be something that should stand out.
I would caution brides from choosing AprilMayJune Designs. Not because they are uncapable of making beautiful arrangements, but because they are not worth the added stress. Find a florist who takes personal pride in both their flowers and their service!
