Dont bother if you are just in the idea phase.
The bad
1. You are negatively effect if you are not patented or patent pending.
2. I sent them a image ie drawing and they marked me as not having one. Even though i sent the faxes and image (emailed) on the same day.
3. You are again effected in a negitve way if you are not patent pending or patented. 2 times for sure and a third roll into the eval.
4. The eval has no details to describe why your score falls in the certain description and area graded. I dont want to give away their details of the eval as it might violate some things so i am tryn to be to the point about it.
5. They talk to by email quickly until they send you the report back and if you didint meet their criteria they dont bother to email you back with a explination.
6. You cant do consumer appeal without a patent pending product or patent. Who are you going to ask and poll?
7. Wether you score high or low in a area their is no defined definition and is way to broad to really help you the inventor in decision making.
8. Http://www.lambertinvent.com/evaluation.htm they do do that but dont again expect any clear definition of the grade and its definition.
9. After reciving report i wanted clerification on why i was scored in certian areas and to this date have not recived a email from said company.
The good
1. They talk to you before you do the eval instantly.
2. They are quick to do the evaluation for me was under 2 weeks.
3. They do provide if any patents may prevent you from moving forward.
4. They find information that may prevent you from patenting.
5. Even though it wasnt a indepth search they did find 1 thing in my case which would detour me from patenting. Again this is not a indepth search nd they provided me with links to things that may interfer with moving forward.
My opinion
They need to state if your invention and or idea is not patented or patent pending you will be harshly deducted in the eval scoring.
Also they need to state in the eval it is not detailed enough for you the inventor to make a sound judgement for you investing future of you idea or invention.
They say it is a eval and yet a recommendation at the same time.
It is really just a look at your idea if they like it then they move forward i assume. It is their money so who am i to argue.
Like i said dont expect the eval marketablilty to be defined in detail of why it falls into that score.
I consider this a ripoff based on the fact it does not state you are negativily effected by not bieng patent pending or having a patented idea or invention.
Plus you are effected twice in the evaluation for that fact alone.
I would have never submitting your idea or invention again without having a patent pending status to this company until they disclose the fact your are effected in a negative way by you patent status. False advertising for sure i think someone else complained about this same fact and this company denied it i think it is here in usacomplaints.com pages somewhere.
On the other hand you are patented and have a prototype go for it cause you will definatley get what you pay for. If I had a prototype and was patented then i would have no complaints. Since I would not score low on theses factors. Again wait that is 4 things you got worry about that you are not aware of before you submitt your idea or invention although they seem trivial they really make a impact on your score. They should also put on the site what you really need to include to get a better score.
Againits their money oh and my image was what the product would look like in a store and they said in report did not recive one.
