True Vision - Maurice Powell
Door-to-door magazine scam. A well-dressed, nice young person claims to be "cleaning up their act" and earning points to get a better job

Apparently, I've fallen for the scam. This well-dressed younger African American guy came to my house claiming to be selling magazines. He gave me a LONG spiel about this organization, True Vision, and he knew it word-for-word as if he'd been doing it for months. This man, "Maurice", claimed to be from a bad background and said he was just trying to work his way to a more respectable life.

Of course, I feel bad for the guy and feel like doing my good deed of the day and sign up for two magazine subscriptions and write the guy a check for over $100. I made the "purchase" in June and have allowed the receipt-stated 120 days for delivery, and guess what, no magazines.

I've called multiple times with no answer and have even left a message on what sounds like a cell phone..?? I'd like to take some sort of action, but am not sure what can be done. If this has happened to you, post a report!!!
