Berger Transfer Allied International
International Moving Fiasco

Berger Transfer-Allied International A.K. A 123 Movers has to be one of the worst moving companies out there. Last May my family hired Berger Transfer to move our household goods from Scottsdale, AZ to Oslo, Norway.

We signed a contract with a Berger Transfer employee named John Abbink. The contract stated that we would recieve our household goods on July 15. We paid the fee in full and our items were boxed up and taken away on May 21.

Would you believe that July 15 came and went and no delivery? Meanwhile, my family has relocated to Norway and we have been living out of suitcases packed with summer clothes because the expectation was that we would receive our entire shipment by July 15.

I did not recieve a phone call when our stuff did not arrive so I called long distance and spoke to John Abbink in Arizona. He informed me that Berger Transfer had accidently left our container in the warehouse in Arizona. They actually forgot to ship our goods!

I was very upset when Mr. Abbink told me that I would not see my things for another 8 weeks at the end of September. I should have called an attorney right then and there.

I mentioned to Mr. Abbink that my family was now living in Norway with nothing but summer clothes in our suitcases, and to please get our household goods to us as soon as possible. Well would you believe that September came and went and still nothing! This is beyond rediculous for an international moving company to be so incompetant.

Finally, on October 7 Allied International arrived at our door on Oslo. I was horrified to discover that many of our boxes had been opened and things were laying loose wrapped in Allied brown paper. When I questioned the delivery man he said that my items arrived in the container from America in this condition!

On top of that 5 parcels were missing and some things were broken like the legs of my baby's crib. I called John Abbink again and asked about the missing items. He informed that they once again FORGOT to send the entire shipment. I wanted my stuff to be air freighted to me immediately, he told me they would send it the "most econmical way possible."

I am so fed up, I mean what is the point of signing a contract with these people if they are going to deliver stuff whenever it suits them and in whatever condition they want? I paid for a proffesional moving service, I could have got a cheaper deal with "podunk Bob's moving" but I didn't do that because I wanted a company with an International reputation for service.

To date I still have not received the rest of my shipment and no one from the company has bothered to respond on the 2 seperate claims I have filed.
I am being treated like garbage just like my household goods were treated, and the worst part is that I actually paid for it and my entire family contines to pay for this International Moving Fiasco.

Thank You Berger Transfer-Allied International for making my transition to a new country a complete nightmare, I hope to sue you in the near future.
