We moved partly our house with Echo Trans World in April from Connecticut to Amsterdam. The full price was due immediately and it started out good by picking up our boxes and 2 bicycles on time. Thereafter - nothing worked anymore.
We had an agreed upon delivery time between 4-6 weeks, only phone calls to check on the status showed that it wasn't shipped, and once it got shipped it again required phone calls to the Rotterdam company they partner with to get it... All in all it took 10.5 weeks.
Both bikes arrived damaged, something/somebody must have driven into or hitting them hard, both bikes had problems with a wheel, one of them was bended so that the repair jobs adviced that it is not reparable at all.
After now waiting for our clothes a very long time, and the broken bikes, I still felt ok given that I had signed up and paid for insurance.
That of course was naive to believe - even finding out what to do took multiple emails and calls, finally I received a procedure how to get in touch wiht Anthem who settles their claims.
I receive a totally unacceptable settlement suggestion from Anthem, namely no reimbursement for the delay and $48 to cover the fact that 1 expensive bikes has to be thrown away since repair is not possible, the other bike was reparable but the suggested total settlement doesn't cover even the repair bill.
The letter said that this settlement is final and to go back to Echo Trans World to ask you for their arbitration procedure.
Since them I am being told that there is no such thing as an arbitration procedure.
Paying $1800 for 5 boxes and 2 bikes, $300 insurance to have such an experience is just unbelievable.
We are exploring our options to get compensation are very interested in coordinating our efforts with other victims of Echo Trans World.
