I sent a package delivered by UPS that was damaged in transit. The details follow below.
On 10-16-02 I delivered a package to Piggly Wiggly in Bells Tennessee to be delivered by UPS to California. Piggly Wiggly gave the package to UPMS who then delivered the package into the hands of UPS. This package was damaged in transit.
UPS informed us that they have sent a letter to UPMS requesting information on said parcel. They also claim that UPMS has not responded to their request.
While on the phone with one of their high level supervisors I was informed that they never picked up my stereo even though the fat man who came by with his digital camera took over 30 pictures of the damaged carton. Two days later one of UPS' brown Gestapo came by and left with my stereo under his arm. Apparently, my stereo is interned in UPS Dachau at the moment. My opinion of UPS is at an all time low.
This is what UPS Intelligentsia told me: In order for my claim on the package to be honored, UPMS must answer the request from UPS since they are the shipper of record. Once the request for information is answered a claim check is to be issued to the shipper who in turn would issue same to Piggly Wiggly. Piggly Wiggly would then issue a check to me at that time. What kind of Bogus Stuff is this?
The first part of this process is for UPS to get off their backsides and send me a check. UPS reminds me of a poodle scratching its buttocks against the ground trying to get rid of an unwanted itch. Frankly, I am tired of their officials trying to scratch me off like some kind of flea.
It has been some months since I filed my claim with UPS, but it feels like longer. I have no intention of giving up the fight. We definitely have a smoking gun here. UPS came to my home and took my stereo without notifying me that they were sending to UPMS. This is tantamount to theft. I am now without my stereo and UPS has given my stereo away.
The UPS supervisors were both rude and unhelpful.
