Zen Van Lines gave me an estimate for 2300 lbs for my interstate move from Atlanta to Cincinnati, OH. Just prior to delivery, I was told that my inventory weighed 5000 lbs and doubled up the price to $3000 from $1500. I know this cannot be true as I just recently moved to Atlanta and all my goods were weighed @ 3200 lbs by a reliable mover who contracts with my employer.
I offered to pay their demands as a price for my mistake in contracting with this company. My only request was for a re-weigh in my presence. I understand this is my right as per FMCSA guidelines. They have refused and wanted me to go to Atlanta for the re-weigh.initially, they said it would cost another $700 to re-weigh.
I have filed complaints with FMCSA and BBB and waiting to hear from them. It has been a month without our goods now. Moving by itself is stressful and Zen Van Lines will make it miserable. You will be making a BIG MISTAKE if you contract with this company. I tried to save some money and ended up paying for it!
