Bought Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from GameStop via Trymedia. Call of Duty4 requires the latest patch in order to connect to the vast majority of servers for multiplayer gameplay (ver 1.7)... Trymedia does not have this patch available making this game unusable. The normally downloaded patches simply don't work and during installation suggest you contact selling vendor (then shutdown). GameStop refused to help and suggested I contact TryMedia. Upon contact (email only) Trymedia stated no action was possible (i had asked for a refund). I will be asking for a chargeback via Visa in the near future.
Regardless of their attempt to separate the purchase, I also hold Gamestop responsible as I was buying the game from their site, not Trymedia
I will not in the future purchase anything from Gamestop. According to wikipedia Electronic Boutique (EB Games) and GameSpot also use trymedia... I also won't purchase anything from them from this point going forward (as per http://en. Wikipedia.org/wiki/TryMedia).
