I received an unknown phonecall a couple of times then finally picked up. I was told that I was chosen as a preferred customer for something (couldnt hear I was on a bus) I assumed it was for my Chase Leisure rewards. I was told I would receive $300 gas tickets then transferred for another offer of $1000 Buyers club card... Then for ID theft program. I only agreed to the buyers club and roadside assistance. They already had all of my information so I just agreed to pay the shipping charge of around $4.97 for each program with the intention to cancel them after the trial period. The shipping charges were taken off of my account for all 3 offers (only chose 2) but I didnt receive the information in the mail.
When I called the numbers on my bank statement (866-888-2654) was one of the numbers I was shocked to hear they rep answer Active periodicals because I did not order magazines. I had trouble getting someone who could help me figure out where the orders were and how to take off the ID theft. Finally a rep called me back and said she would take off the ID theft (never taken off). Not only did they never take that off but they charged me for the TRIAL subscription of $29.97 and $29.33 I decided to google the company and here I am now learning that it was all a scam. I definitely dont want this to happen to others and now I am concerned with how these scam artists had all of my information in the first place! But I believe giving all my information to sign up for a FREE annual credit report had something to do with it! Be careful with credit card sights even Annual Credit score ones like I registered for less than a week before the "active" scam phonecall!!!
