Active Periodicals contacted me constantly on my cell phone. I agreed to try out a few magazines and see how I liked it. I was also told I would recieve my order information in the mail and that I could review it and send it back. I never recieved a written contract nor signed anything from the company. I have been getting some of the magazines for a few months, but not all of them.
I called finally today to complain and cancel the orders but I was told that I was too far into my "contract" to cancel and that there was no way out unless I paid my account in full. I quickly corrected the woman on the phone saying I had no contract, I never signed anything and again to please cancel these magazines, I want nothing more to do with the company. She again told me that I can either pay the account or let it go to collections, those were my only two options.
I have filed a complaint with the FTC and now I am filing here. They are very decieving and present a false picture of what you are getting into. Then, so far, they refuse to stop billing. Please complain if you have had the same experience. The link to the FTC complaint form is:
