My husband was suckered into this scamming company about 4 or 5 months ago. They called in the evening when we are always busy, doing other things, so he was ready to get off the phone (now wishing he would have just hung up on them!) so he agreed for them to send him some information, so he thought! We were outraged when we got their "letter" saying that we were to pay $39.75 a month for the next 3 years!!! That is $1431.00. Money we could put towards our children's education. So we called to try to cancel, and of course they said that we cannot cancel because they had my husband recorded agreeing to the services. Is this really legal? A verbal agreement over the phone?
So since we thought that we could not cancel after their big long spill of Blah, Blah, Blah. We changed around the magazines to our selections. Which now at this point I don't understand how according to Diamond Enterprises Magazine "we can make changes to our selections at any time we choose to'. So if we decide to switch to 5 other magazines every other month than what we are already getting, this is no problem to them to be able to stop payment to one company and send payment to one of my other choices. But "they cannot cancel payment to all of them" if I want to cancel. This does not seem fair!!!
So on to my last major complaint, which we are really getting fed up with and a line needs to be drawn! We are to the point we are thinking of changing all of our phone numbers! When my husband first got scammed into this he put it on our credit card, but we then decided to change to our debit card. I kid you not these HARASSING IDIOTS call our house phone at least 2 times a week. If I answer the phone and they ask for him, and I ask who it is and what it is in regards to, they tell me it is Diamond Enterprise and they will just try to reach him on his cell phone. They have his cell phone number only because I got tired of them calling me at home and then being so rude, so I gave them his cell # so he could deal with them, and they call him on his cell phone at least 2 or more times a week to ask him if he will switch back to our credit card. After numerous times of him telling them no and them still calling, he then told them to quit calling him.
And has still continued to call him on an average of every week and a half, since he told them to quit calling him.
We really are getting at our wits end with this company. Are we going to have to cancel all of our accounts, that they know about to get out of this and not get anymore of our money, and change all of our phone numbers for them to quit calling and harassing us!!!
PLEASE HELP us in what we need to do. Because being nice is not an option anymore!!!
