I briefly worked for this company, and during that time, I found out that one of their employees was charging customers for services he didn't provide in order to increase his paycheck.
This is fire extinguishers; they should be required to hold their services to a standard, considering this is a potentially life and death device they're dealing with.
This employee mostly worked the Greer/Eagar area, in the last year or so. I know this because most of the tags I removed had his name on them. He would charge customers for a 6 year maintenance, which requires that you let the air out of them, remove and clean the head and make sure that the powder is adequate, and then "recharge" them. This jerk only removed tags and put new ones on, and then would turn around and charge most of his customers for work that he didn't do.
This activity was perfectly acceptable to "Sher" who's in charge of that department. She even held him up as an example of someone who "really got out there and hustled". If she meant ripped off customers, she was right about that.
I believe that there is, or should be a regulatory board that needs to look into these practices, as they are working with safety devices.
She also regularly hires and fires people for no logical reason. I'm pretty sure if you aren't a screwed up drug addict, they don't have much use for you there. Everyone that works there is either an alcoholic or a chain smoker, so it was really no surprise that she made up an excuse to fire me. It's about what you expect from a "family" company. Either suck up to the family, be as much of a disgusting addict as the rest of them, or get out.
I was told that the reason I was "let go" was because she didn't think I was "getting" the job, but that I was dependable and doing what I was asked to do.
Her old puke of a father told someone from unemployment that I just stood around with my hands in my pockets. Funnily, every time he saw me, I was in the middle of doing something, you know, what's called working. Not taking a smoke break for the 50'th time that day, not standing around chatting, actually working. Too bad you can't say that about any of their permanent employees.
Just a bunch of really low class scum, these people.
